  • What is CrossFit
CrossFit is constantly varied, functional movements performed at high intensity. We combine aspects of weightlifting, gymnastics and cardio to improve your overall health and fitness. We aspire to build a strong and healthy community that thrives both in and out of the gym.
  • Is CrossFit suitable for all ages and abilities?
100% YES! We have members from the age of 15 to 67 years old who all do the same session and train together. This is one of the great aspects of CrossFit and its community. We say that the needs of an Olympic athlete and our grandparents differ by degree not kind! This means we can all do CrossFit to suit our needs and ability with the help of our coach who will scale the movements and intensity.
  • Do I need to be fit to start?
NO!! This is a common misconception with CrossFit. The best way to get fit for CrossFit is to start CrossFit. Our coaches will tailor the session and excercises to suit your needs and ability so you get the most out of the session. This is why all our coaches are some of the most qualified and experienced in the UK.
  • What classes do you offer?
CrossFit classes are our bread and butter. Every day is different, but a CrossFit class will usually begin with a Strength/Skill section, followed by our workout of the day (WOD). Each session is coach led and will last 1 hour. Everyone will complete the same session that day no matter your fitness or ability levels. Our programme is designed so that in any given week you will get a good mixture of strength, cardio & skill work. Alongside these sessions we run a small number of more specialised sessions. Our class "Engine" is a cardiovascular based class that will be aimed at building stamina and endurance. Using the rowers, air bikes, ski erg alongside low complex movements at high intensity you will definitely get a sweat on! “Barbell Club” gives out members chance to work on their Olympic Lifting technique. Under the watchful eye of our amazing coaches, they receive personalised, high quality coaching to improve their lifting and their strength.
  • Do you offer a free trial session?
Of course. Everyone new or experienced at CrossFit will be able to come and try a session for free. We understand people can be nervous so we offer a free session to ease you into CrossFit and let our coaches show you the value we can offer to you.
  • Do you do classes for beginners?
Yes. Our CFG INTRO sessions are designed to introduce new and incoming members to CrossFit, and CrossFit Grantham. These are 60 minute sessions, that run twice a month with Head Coach, Sam. You will be introduced to the foundational movements of CrossFit, debunking some of the lingo, and ensuring you’re moving safely so you can feel more comfortable and confident heading into our group classes. CFG INTRO sessions are free with a membership, or £20 for a one-off or drop in. Check out our timetable to see when the next CFG INTRO is and to book now.
  • What memberships do you offer?
You can check our our membership options here.
  • How do I sign up?
Start by joining us for a Free Trial. Then, when you’re ready to sign up it’s super easy to do! If you’re ready to sign up now, head to this link.
  • I’ve never been to the gym/haven’t trained for a really long time, will I be ok?
Absolutely. The greatest thing about CrossFit (aside from the community) is how scalable everything is. CrossFit meets you where you’re at. Everything we do has multiple options, and more often than not, you will see a class of people all doing different variations of the same movement. It’s what we do best. Our coaches will help you decide which option is best for you and your goals.
  • I have an injury but I really want to train. Can I join your classes?
Yes. Our first instinct is to of course err on the sie of caution, but if you are otherwise feeling good, then you are welcome to join our classes. Our coaches will be on hand to help find a movement option that works for you. For example, if a member comes in with a shoulder injury, we will avoid anything that will aggrevate it, and most of the time that means creating a whole lower body, or one-armed version of the workout for them.
